Curran Law Firm has a long and distinguished history in South King County:
  • 1948, Kelleher & Curran: James P. Curran joined James Kelleher;
  • 1957, Curran & Ratcliffe: After the passing of James Kelleher, Jim Curran was joined by Robert Ratcliffe;
  • 1961, Curran & Curran: Jim Curran was joined by his younger brother, Charles P. Curran and during the next twenty years, the Curran brothers, Melvin L. Kleweno and their associates, established themselves as the preeminent law firm in the Kent Valley.
  • 1966, Curran, Kleweno & Curran: The firm changed its name recognizing Melvin L. Kleweno’s contribution to its growing success;
  • 1969, Curran, Kleweno, Johnson & Curran: Stephen L. Johnson joins the firm;
  • 1983, Curran, Kleweno & Johnson: After a long and distinguished legal career, including service as a member of the Kent City Council and the Board of Governors of the Washington State Bar Association, Jim Curran retired and the firm became Curran, Kleweno & Johnson. Through 1997 the firm's size and breadth of practice increased significantly, including the addition of a school a and municipal law practice;
  • 1997, Curran Mendoza: In 1980 another group of well respected attorneys started their own firm in Tukwila -- Cromwell, Mendoza & Belur. On August 1, 1997, these two firms merged and became Curran Mendoza, P.S. The firm continued to grow and ultimately became the largest law firm between Seattle and Tacoma, adding a significant homeowners association practice serving the growing Puget Sound Region.
  • 2007, Curran Law Firm: For nearly sixty years now our firm has most commonly been referred to and known as the “Curran” law firm. Effective January 1, 2007, we decided to honor our heritage and change our name; we are now formally known as Curran Law Firm.
